Manufactured Home Floor Vents - How to Measure Floor Registers

Hello! Welcome to another issue of our newsletter. We hope this 2022 is filled with health and prosperity for you and your family. This month we will teach you about floor registers or floor vents. These are in all homes that have down flow furnaces, meaning the ducts are below the floor. 

Floor vents come in brown and white colors and have various sizes you can choose from. It is important that you measure the floor register before purchasing one to avoid mistakes. Remember, there are NO "standard" vents.

There are 2 correct ways to measure a floor vent - one is to measure the "rough opening" on the duct which is the hole on the floor where the vent will be installed. The second way to measure is to take out the floor register and measure the back that goes inside the duct as shown on the pictures below (4x10in).

Las rejillas de ventilación se pueden encontrar en varias medidad de colores blanco y marrón. Es importante medir la rejilla antes de comprar una nueva para evitar errores. Recuerda, NO hay una medida "estándar." 

Hay dos formas correctas de medir tu rejilla de ventilación. La primera es medir la apertura del ducto (hoyo en el piso) donde se ensambla la rejilla. La segunda forma es sacar la rejilla y medir la parte tracera de esta que va dentro del ducto como se muestra en las imagenes acontinuación (4x10in).
