Hello everyone! Another year has gone by and December is here. This month we bring you a series of tutorials in how to use the SCD Professional tools to properly replace the switches in your manufactured home.
There are three tools you can purchase on our website:
- Pass and Seymour SCD Tool for Snap-On switches and receptacles
- Wirecon SCD Tool for Wirecon switches and receptacles
- Universal SCDT Tool (Pass & Seymour brand) for both Wirecon and Snap-on switches and receptacles
Note: Remember to place the wire exactly like it was before replacing the switch or receptacle. Take a photo if necessary to avoid confusions.

¡Hola! Bienvenidos a la octava edición del boletín informativo. Diciembre llegó y otro año que esta por terminar. Este mes les traemos los pasos a seguír al usar las heramientas profecionales SCD para instalar contactos e interruptores en casas móviles.
Hay tres marcas de heramientas SCD que puedes ordenar en nuestra página de internet:
- Heramienta SCD marca Pass and Seymour para contactos e interruptores snap-on
- Heramienta SCD marca Wirecon para contactos e interruptores
- Herramienta Universal SCDT (marca Pass & Seymour) para contactos e interruptores snap-on y Wirecon.
Nota: Recuerda que debes acomodar el cable exactamente como estaba antes de remplazar el contacto o interruptor. Toma una foto si es necesario para evitar confusiones.

This tool has a sharp knife that cuts the wire for the first-time installation. Carefully cut the wire and separate the side wires from the central wire with your hands.
Esta herramienta contiene una cuchilla para cortar bel cable durante la primera instalación. Cuidadosamente, corta el cable y separa con las manos los cables de color, dejando solo el cable central de cobre.
Wirecon SCD Tool - Toggle Switch
For first-time installation: This device does not come with a blade to cut the wire on first-time installation. You can cut the wire manually with a knife or blade.
This tool has an interchangeable die specific for the toggle and receptacle switches. Make sure you change it by removing the screw on the side depending on the part you will replace.
Para la primera instalación: Esta herramienta no contiene la cuchilla para cortar el cable. Corta el cable manualmente con una navaja o cuchillo y separa los cables de color, dejando solo el cable central de cobre.
Este aparato contiene un dado intercambiable especifico para el conatcto o interruptor. Asegurate de cambiarlo al lado correcto según la parte que vayas a reemplazar.

This device can be use with both brands or switches and receptacles. Be careful when pressing down the wire into the new switch or receptacle, do not twist the stem of the SCDT tool, it may brake.
Esta herramieta funciona con ambas marcas de contactos e interruptores. Se recomienda cuidado al instalar el cable dentro del nuevo interruptor o contacto y no torcer el tallo de la herramienta SCDT porque se puede romper.
